This site is for our clients only as an information resource.

The newsletter is written by the Chairman of the Department of Nutrition & Food Science at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. Hes also the Editor in Chief of the Journal of the American College of Nutrition. The articles are short and to the point, and you will learn from them. (NNF is not connected with either the University, nor with JACN. Nor are we affiliated with any company marketing supplements or food.)
The website contains a database of all our articles that you can peruse by subject. Theres also a great search engine onsite. Please come check it out. Youll find it quite useful. The address is http://www.NutritionNewsFocus.com
The CHARTER of sci.med.nutrition states that the purpose of this newsgroup is to discuss food, food preparation, eating habits, etc., (including social, medical, and psychological aspects, etc.) as it relates to the quality and longevity of human life.
The scope of the discussion will include questions about nutrition, health, nutritional treatments of illness, nutritional content of various foods. Questions about the ethical considerations of eating any food are specifically not allowed.
RATIONALE: Right now, there are a significant number of posts on sci.med.nutrition that are either sales pitches for nutritional products or cross-posted arguments over the ethics of eating meat. The ethical considerations for eating meat are on topic themes for talk.politics.animals and rec.food.veg - they are not on topic for sci.med.nutrition. Sales pitches are not welcome in sci groups. The on topic discussions have become the minority in the last year, and as a result many regular contributors have left the newsgroup.
